Today, we have three guests: our designer, Melissa Corry of Happy Quilting , Lynne Goldsworthy of Lily’s Quilts and the Fat Quarter Shop.
Melissa’s quilt is a prime example of a block-based optical illusion. There are many examples of quilt blocks that, when joined together, form a secondary pattern – one that creates an illusion of movement that never gives your eye a rest. Melissa’s block does just that. When the block is joined together, the secondary pattern emerges: windmill blades that seem to never stop turning.
