Welcome to Day 3 of the Optical Illusions Blog Party! Today’s guest is Penny Layman of Sew Take a Hike.
Penny is best known for her extreme paper piecing. Her patterns are very country inspired, with a modern bend and are nothing short of fun. Although her optical illusion isn’t paper pieced, it is still impressive.
Penny chose to translate a simple optical illusion using only two fabrics – blue and green. Although these colors are usually calming, this illusion is frenetic and dizzying. The jagged lines not only add movement, but the quilting enhances the illusion of depth, making the rows to appear to narrow at the ends. This is a perfect optical illusion. But the best part is it is so easy to make.
Head to her blog to see her quilt and enter her contest to win a copy of the book.
Before you leave, though, don’t forget to enter our contest to win a copy of the book on Monday’s post. To enter, leave a comment on the question posed in the post. One comment per person, please. Hurry, a winner will be announced Thursday.
Join us and our guests for the rest of the blog tour. If you missed any dates, there’s still time to read about the book and enter the contests.
